The energy embargo has mostly succeeded (although many European states still receive oil/gas via pipelines and Germany is still importing LNG from Russia, but this is becoming more and more residual). Probably the most useful page at the moment is the list of demonstrations . But this does not preclude other content (e.g. in autumn | we collected info on energy fundraisers on say on weapons deliveries). In case you want to revive this site (also possibly under a more up-to-date name), feel free to contact (see contact at "Joining").
Positioning
This wiki collects information about an energy embargo to stop the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This wiki is generally pro-embargo, but it also collects argumentation *against* the embargo if it brings awareness and/or understanding of counter-positions and hence carries the overall debate further.
- Reasons to support an embargo include that it is an effective and comparatively peaceful means of exercising pressure and showing own determination and resilience.
- If one supports additional weapon deliveries / military support, then the embargo is one of the means that should be used (paying an aggressor while fighting it is contradictory);
- if one is against weapons deliveries then the embargo is one of the few available means of coercion at all.
- That is, this site focuses on getting a good documentation on what is being said / researched on the embargo topic and welcomes contributions regardless of your position on (e.g.) weapons.
- This site focuses on energy embargo as likely most efficient measure, but side-topics (such as embargo on metals, fertilizers etc) are possible.
- This site does not advocate embargo on essential medical supplies, where people depend on them.
