Heating by electricity

  • Generally, generation of electricity has only 30-50% efficiency.
  • However, using electrical device on well-defined time slices can be more efficient than heating an entire room.

Shall I use an electrical radiator / convector?

  • Local electric heating (e.g. heatfans) can be used to quickly warm up the space you are currently in. This can be more efficient than maintaining comfortable temperature in every room most of the time, and hence save gas and money.
